Tonis Start

Bio: Tonis graduated with an Honours degree in Biomedical Science. He graduated from Teacher's College and is now an Ontario Certified Teacher .

Fun Fact: Tonis participated in 13 running and triathlon events in 2019. During the pandemic, he has worked on creating music.

Aljo Anand

Bio: Aljo holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry with over 6 years of teaching and research experience, specializing in Chemistry and Biology.

Fun Fact: Aljo loves sports and adventure activities.

Lisa Jardine

Bio: Lisa is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics with Music at Acadia University. She hopes to work towards a Masters in Applied Mathematics, and find ways to combine math and music in future research

Fun Fact: Lisa can ride the unicycle.

Amanda Singh

Bio: Amanda is in her fifth year of an Honours Bachelor of Arts program for Applied Mathematics and a minor in English hoping to pursue a teaching degree in the years to come.

Fun Fact: Amanda is a professional musician and has done hundreds of shows and events around the world since she was 6 years old.

Ramzi Abu-Zeineh

Bio: Ramzi is a graduate from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Along his journey, he has taught students Mathematics and Computer Science from Grades 9-12 as well as Year 1, 2 and 3 in university.

Fun Fact: Ramzi has traveled across seven different countries and can speak two languages.

Ryan Randmaa

Bio: Ryan is a recent graduate from the university of Waterloo with a bachelors of Physics and Astronomy and is hoping to pursue a masters of engineering

Fun Fact: He has done the tough mudder run and hopes to do it again

Amiel Buning

Bio: Amiel graduated from Trent University Durham with a Double Major in English and Sociology as well as an Emphasis in Teacher Education (2016-2020). Amiel also attended Trent's Teacher's College (2020-2022) - where he uses this invaluable experience within his individual tutoring sessions to foster his student's learning and development.

Fun Fact: Despite being the youngest out of 6 siblings, Amiel always finds himself in leadership positions. In his previous work experience, he was chosen to lead an event that featured a cooking night with Serge Ibaka (an NBA player for the Toronto Raptors at the time). This was in celebration of the Food District that was a relatively new space in Square One's Shopping Centre.

Andres Paz Rodriguez

Bio: Andres has a BSc In Materials & Nanosciences from the University of Waterloo. He has taught students from the Waterloo school board in math, sciences and technology.

Fun Fact: Andres was a competitive swimmer for 8 years.

Jyothis Thomas

Bio: Jyothis holds a PhD in Engineering Physics from the University of Montreal and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay. With over 11 years of teaching experience, she has inspired countless students in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Dr. Thomas has published more than 20 research articles in physics and remains dedicated to her passion for teaching and helping students excel academically.

Fun Fact: When she’s not teaching, Jyothis trades equations for exploration! As a YouTuber and travel vlogger, she loves capturing and sharing her adventures from around the world.

Ahnaf Alam

Bio: Ahnaf has graduated with a degree in Economics, focusing on data analytics, and minors in Statistics and Psychology from University of Toronto. In the future, he plans on pursing a Masters degree in data science.

Fun Fact: He is a huge fan of Toronto Blue Jays and in his spare time, he loves to explore baseball metrics.

Priyanka Dixit

Bio: Priyanka is a passionate and dedicated math educator. She specializes in teaching a wide range of topics, from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus. With 10 years of teaching experience and highest Master degree in Mathematics with distinction, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a student-centered approach to the classroom.Known for her ability to make math relatable and engaging, she uses real-life examples and interactive teaching methods to foster a love for learning. Her goal is to build students' confidence, enhance problem-solving skills, and create a supportive environment where every learner can thrive.

Fun Fact: She loves incorporating puzzles and brain teasers into lessons to make math even more exciting. When she is not teaching, she loves solving Sudoku, exploring new math tricks, or figuring out how to fold the perfect origami with geometric precision.

Tess Humes

Bio: Tess graduated from the University of Western in 2021 with an Honours Specialization Bachelors Degree in English Language and Literature. Tess plans to pursue developmental editing and has a debut novel coming out in 2026.

Fun Fact: Tess comes from a large family, with over 20 aunts and uncles and over 40 first cousins.

Zara Bagha

Bio: She is a student at the University of Toronto in Mississauga doing a degree in Forensic Biology and hopes to have a career in the same field.

Fun Fact: She is a novelist and avid reader in her spare time

Fiza Sehar

Bio: Fiza is currently a Software Engineering student at McMaster University. She hopes to pursue a career in Software development.

Fun Fact: She loves to watch documentaries in her spare time.

Miguel De Vera

Bio: Miguel is a recent graduate from UofT's Computer Science Program. He focuses on full stack development and he has worked with startups and the federal government.

Linette Borges

Bio: Linette is a student at McMaster University and is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology. She aspires to have a career in science and education.

Lakshmi Bezawada

Bio: Lakshmi holds a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). With over 14 years of teaching experience, she has taught diverse student groups across CBSE, IGCSE, and MYP curricula. She is passionate about fostering deep conceptual understanding, inspiring curiosity, and helping students achieve their best.

‍Fun Fact: Lakshmi enjoys gardening and finds it a wonderful way to relax and connect with nature.

Marwan Tayar

Bio: Marwan has obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics and a minor in Business from Simon Fraser University. He is Currently working towards the CFA designation, to one day work in the Finance Industry.

Fun Fact: He enjoys competitive strategy games, and he tries to compete whenever he can

Asif Ayub

Bio: Asif has graduated from Perimeter Institute with a Masters degree in Theoretical Physics. He is currently working as a researcher at University of Waterloo.

Fun Fact: He is working on a theory of parties and party dynamics.

Raja Saad Wasim

Bio: Raja is an experienced Math and Computer Science tutor who focuses on clear explanations, problem-solving skills, and helping students achieve academic success.

Tracy Lei

Bio: Tracy is attending the University of British Columbia for Bachelor's degrees in Cognitive Systems and Biology, and she has been tutoring at the high school level for over three years. She plans to pursue neuroscience-based research as well as teaching at the university level.

Fun Fact: Tracy loves creating visual art of all forms, with a current penchant for watercolour, oil pastel, crochet, and origami. She has held a mixed-media art exhibition entitled "Ecosystem".

Edward Zhu

Bio: Edward is a third year student at McMaster University studying computer engineering.

Fun Fact: He loves playing the electric guitar in his free time.

Ashiful Bhuiyan

Bio: Ashiful Bhuiyan holds a degree in Mathematical Physics from Trent University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Science.

Fun Fact: Enjoys developing math and physics apps, tools and simulations. Particularly with Chaotic Systems. Also enjoys integrating automation into as many aspects of life as possible.

Sephora Ngwamou

Bio: Sephora Djomo graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Global Health at McMaster University.

Fun Fact: Sephora enjoys dancing and was a part of a dance team in her undergrad at Queen's University.

Dhanvin Tandon

Bio: Dhanvin is an undergraduate student from McMaster University and is pursuing a bachelor's of Electrical Engineering. He has been teaching for 4 years and when he is not drowning in engineering work, he likes to play basketball, sketch and make video games.

Fun Fact: Dhanvin loves anything Spiderman!

Samantha Ligi

Bio: As a Master’s graduate in Biochemistry and a current Research Technician in the Division of Thoracic Surgery, Samantha brings both academic and real-world experience to her tutoring sessions. She specializes in breaking down complex science topics—like biology, chemistry, and biochemistry—into clear, manageable concepts tailored to your learning style.

Fun Fact: Samantha swam with wild stingrays in the Cayman Islands

Moyou Jermalili

Bio: Mayou is studying master's in civil engineering at Carleton University. She holds a Bachelor degree in civil Engineering as well. She has taught math and physics at high school level for 3 years and has been tutoring privately for more than 10 years.

Soumil Thete

Bio: Soumil Thete is a Software Engineering with a Bachelor's in Engineering. He is experienced in building software projects, and is passionate about learning, exploring, and trying new things.

Fun Fact: Soumil has played over 1,000 online chess games and loves discovering creative strategies.

Jaisal Samra

Bio: Jaisal Samra holds a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences with a Sustainability minor. He is passionate about education and innovation.

Fun Fact: Jaisal loves playing tennis

Luke Klossok

Bio: Luke graduated with a Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry with a Minor in Statistics from Simon Fraser University and currently works as a Bioinformatics Research Assistant.

Fun Fact: Luke loves to go on long mountainous hikes only when its sunny out.

Swapnil Shastri

Bio: Swapnil graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and is an Engineer-in-Training (EIT). He has experience tutoring students in science and problem-solving skills.

Fun Fact: Swapnil enjoys simplifying complex concepts and loves solving analytical puzzles in his free time.

Jeremy Pham

Bio: Jeremy is a Computer Science graduate with experience teaching kids coding and literacy. Passionate about learning, teamwork, and creativity.

Fun fact: I play piano!

Kate Barkhouse

Bio: Kate completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Microbiology and Immunology and Minor in English at Dalhousie University. She spent a few years working odd jobs in research, medical offices, and ESL tutoring, and is now a medical student at the University of Western Ontario.

Fun fact: Kate got to name a newly discovered microbe

Shadi Hatem Khalil

Bio: Shadi holds a degree in Computing Science and Mathematics from the University of Alberta and is a bilingual tutor specializing in K–12 STEM subjects and language instruction.

Fun Fact: In his free time, Shadi designs educational games and produces electronic music.

Ian MacPherson

Bio: Ian graduated from the University of Alberta with a master's degree in physics. He plans to pursue a PhD in physics, studying geophysical fluid mechanics with applications in planetary science.

Fun Fact: Ian plays guitar.

Akshay Bharadwaj

Bio: Akshay is a PhD candidate in Geomatics engineering with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University. He has over three years of experience building robots, computer vision algorithms, and deep learning models. He likes to make Math and Physics intuitive through real-world engineering applications
